Mechanical Scale

Mechanical scale is a lower cost products yet accurate. In general, it can be grouped in two categories, spring scale and balance. Spring scale measures weight by reporting the distance that spring deflects under a load. Hanging scale and mechanical kitchen scale are the examples of the spring scales. On the other hand, a balance compares the torque on the arm due to a sample weight to the torque on the arm due to a standard reference weight using a horizontal lever. Mechanical table balance is one of the balances.
